Greetings! Thank you for visiting my Phlog! I know, what is a Phlog, you ask?! Well, since I’m a photographer, and this is my web log, I figure Phlog is an apt description!

I am a professional photographer based in the Temecula area of Southern California. I love my wife Erinn, who shoots weddings with me and has her own thriving family and baby portrait business, E.D. Austin Photography.

Photography is an amazing way to capture and freeze any special moment forever. It can preserve a laugh, a smile, a tear, or an embarassing moment. One little picture can bring back long-lost memories, can spark a day of storytelling, or remind us of how precious life is.

Thank you for stopping by, be sure to bookmark me!

Heidi + CJ :: Day After

Posted on December 1st, 2008

We first met Heidi and CJ at the March Air Force Base Trash the Dress shoot, and they were the best of sports, not to mention one of the most popular couples among the photographers.  We got to know them, and decided we’d kidnap them for a day and head out to some of our favorite spots in San Diego for a few more photos!  The terrible Thanksgiving weekend weather luckily headed east, and the warm sunshine took its place.  And what better way to cap off a long day of great shooting than to share a cold drink with new friends!  Thanks you guys for being such good sports, and we look forward to some wine tasting or bar hopping soon, as well as more photos!

Stephanie + Tyler :: Engagement

Posted on November 20th, 2008

Sometimes when you’re in the right place, at the right time, great things can happen.  That’s all I can say about how we came to know Stephanie and Tyler (and their dog Aloha).  We were referred to them from Rachael at McFarlane Promotions and we can’t thank them enough!  Stephanie and Tyler live in downtown San Diego, so it was a quick jaunt for them down to the Gaslamp Quarter, where we spent a couple hours shooting on the streets.  Then, leaving the warm sun behind, we headed over to the beach, where the fog and cold wind rolled in off the Pacific.  But no amount of breeze could have have cooled off the heat coming from these two.  They are passionate about each other, about life, and we cannot wait for their New Year’s Eve wedding!!!

Heather + Mike :: Wedding

Posted on November 17th, 2008

Talk about coming from all over the world to share in the joy of two newlyweds tying the knot.  For the family and friends of Heather and Mike, it was truly an expedition to get to San Diego for their wedding.  When you hear names like London, Africa and Calgary, you know this is truly an international affair.  But no matter where you are from in the world, sharing laughter, tears and a good drink at a loved one’s wedding is the universal language.  Heather and Mike, thank you for letting me spend this day with you, you guys are going to have a long, healthy and happy life together, and from all the weddings I have seen, I know what I am talking about!  Mazel Tov!

Ella + Carlo :: Wedding

Posted on November 17th, 2008

Working with a couple like Pamela and Angelo reminds me of exactly why I love what I do!  To share the joys of such a special day with so many people, all ready to have a REALLY good time!  That’s what this day was with these two, and their enormous extended family, who all seemed to participate in some way with the official wedding day duties.  We had an amazing time with you guys, thank you for letting us be a part of this wonderful event!  Applause!
