Chris Austin, the owner of Chris Austin Photography, has been behind the lens of a camera since 1994 when he started out with a simple point-and-shoot film camera. After graduating from the University of California in 2000 with a degree in Communications, his photography also celebrated a graduation of sorts, as he finally moved up to his first professional SLR.

Practicing and honing his craft on the streets of Santa Barbara, shooting exclusively landscapes and black and white images, he entered the digital realm and the world of modeling photography. In 2003 he purchased his first digital SLR, the Sigma SD9, an up-and-coming camera manufacturer that had a long history in producing high-quality lenses. HIs modeling photography really took off in 2004, and from there he logically moved into the area of wedding and event photography.

In the fall of 2003 he photographed his first wedding, if only as a guest. The next year he continued his wedding practice, acting as assistant photographer for several weddings before taking over the role as main photographer in the fall of 2004. From there, his wedding photography business began to blossom, gaining experience and knowledge with each and every new wedding he shot. Now Chris Austin Photography has become a household name in wedding photography, and is available for weddings anywhere. Chris currently resides in the beautiful coastal city of Santa Barbara, known as the American Riviera. He has traveled to New York City, Miami and the Caribbean on photography assignments, and is available for corporate event photography in addition to modeling and weddings.
